1992 Honda ST1100
Candy Glory Red
- Bike has had the following done prior to my ownership
- Progressive front springs
- Works Performance rear shock
- Rear Wheel bearings
- Front Wheel bearings
- Vista Throttle Lock
- Datel Volt Meter
- Symtec Heated Grips
- Kriss brakelight modulator
- 40 amp alternator upgrade
- Regular maintenance was performed
- At 79,865 miles
- Replaced front and rear tires
- Summer 2004
- Installed PIAA lights with the Ron Major/Dick Seng brackets
- At 90,000 Miles (early spring 2005)
- Timing Belt
- All coolant hoses changed
- All vacuum hoses changed
- Front and Rear brake fluid change and flush
- Clutch fluid change
- Coolant changed
- Osram headlight bulbs installed – with shims
- Kisan Headlight modulator installed/repaired
- Installed fuse block
- Rewired volt meter, PIAA lights and heated grips
- Installed a three-position switch for the PIAA lights – they can now
be turned on by themselves or slaved to the high-beam
- Removed rear wheel and relubed the splines
- At 91,500 miles
- Oil Change - Mobil 1 - 5w40 Truck and SUV - bad, bad, bad -
shifting seemed different and 5w is outside the manufacturer
specs
- At 93,900 miles
- Replace Front Tire
- Replace final drive oil
- At 94,100
- Replace Rear Tire - still rubber left, but not enough
- At 98,800 miles
- Oil Change - Mobil One - 15w50
- At 104,100
- Put the other rear tire back on (the one replaced at 94,100) -
couldn't afford a new one
- At 108,500
- Replace Front and Rear Tires - switched from the OEM Excedra's
to the Avon Storm (AV55/56)
- Splines looked good - need to replace O-Rings next time
- Size Used - 110 80 18 Front, 160 70 17 Rear
- Replaced rear brake pads - they were BAD - virtually nothing
left - pistons actually stuck out - had to use EBC because that's
all that the dealer stocks.
- Rear brake stuck, removed the caliper, pulled the pistons,
cleaned, replaced seals. Seems to work fine now
- Oil Change - Mobil 1 - 15w50 - Filter - Walmart SuperTech

- Replace Rear Tire (Avon Storm)
- Rear Wheel Dampers and inserts
- At 119500

- At 125925 (5/20/09)
- Front Tire (Avon Storm) - Got al little over
17,000 on the front - WOW
- Front Brake Pads (relined the calipers as well)
- Rear Tire (Avon Storm - just on the edge of
being bad - only 7000 miles on it)
- At 126100 (5/26/09)
- Fixed the brake lights - rear needed adjustment,
front needed a new switch - switch is on order and
paid for at Two Brothers
- Oil Change - Mobil 1 - 15w50 - Fram Oil Filter
for the bike
- Rear Differential Change
- Exchanged rear brake fluid - watch the level -
reservoir was empty
- Reinstalled Star-Com system - everything seems
to work fine - can't find the Motorola cable for the
radio. I spent a lot of time looking
- Drained and filled clutch master cylinder - did
not bleed
- Need to do soon (sort of in order)
- Both wheel bearings (parts ordered)
- Steering head bearings (major notch)
- Exchange clutch fluid
- Drain and fill radiator with new antifreeze
- Thermostat
