These are the two
SKF 6000 2RS JEM bearings - get these at a bearing supplier
|
 |
Step 1
Start with the 'empty' impeller and shaft |
 |
Step 2
Place the ceramic part of the CX-500 seal onto the shaft and into the
impeller |
 |
Step 3
Place the larger of the two spacers over the shift - it will slip into
the impeller |
 |
Step 4
Place the second part of the CX-500 seal (the mechanical seal) onto the
impeller shaft |
 |
Step 5
The completed impeller work should look like this |
 |
Step 6
Start with the water pump housing |
 |
Step 7
Tap one of the bearings into the housing |
 |
Step 8
Tap the tin cover over the bearing - I'm not sure what's best here - it
might be advisable to install the impeller shaft at this point - that
way a person could get socket or other 'deep' tool onto the inside of
the bearing and hammer where it puts the least stress on the bearing |
 |
Step 9
Place the smaller of the two spacers into the pump housing |
 |
Step 10
The completed pump housing will look something like this (with the
spacer inside) |
 |
Step 11
Tap the other bearing into the pump housing |
 |
Step 12
Tap the impeller shaft through the pump housing - see note on step 8 |
 |
Step 13
Place the clip over the whole works |
