Initial thoughts on the ST1100

• The ST handles better than the old Wing even with new tires.

• Heated grips are wonderful.

• Modulating headlights make some people mad.

• The bike really wants to go fast - 80 feels a lot more like 50 than 80. For the most part, I felt like I was pulling in on the reins all day.

• When I tuck it into a corner, it knows its way around the bend with little if any intervention on my part.

• The MSF mantra, Slow, look, press and roll takes some getting used to. The roll part can dial in 80 without even trying.

• I really like the Corbin seat.  I was comfortable for the entire ride - even after a tank-to-tank run through Ohio, Indiana and Illinois.

• Having a motorcycle with a seven-gallon gas tank is just plain weird.  I'll get used to it.

• The tires aren't new any more.

• This is one sweet ride.
